Ocean Week Victoria was launched in 2020 to foster connection and engagement within the community by providing a platform to support ocean-inspired events on southern Vancouver Island. We help facilitate and promote inclusive and accessible community events, no matter how large or how small, with a focus on education, conservation, and fun!
We invite residents, businesses, Indigenous groups, scientists, educators, youth… everyone to get involved!

Salish Sea Search
A week-long on-water scavenger hunt in Brentwood Bay at Pacifica Paddle Sports. Ocean-themed clues will be hidden around the bay for you to find by canoe, kayak or paddle board. Come out with your family, find the clues and enter to win great prizes every day 🛶

COST: Free with own SUP, canoe or kayak rentals available for a fee.
Ocean Week Social Paddles
Join us for a leisurely social paddle to enjoy the sunset, connect with like-minded ocean lovers and explore our connection to the Salish Sea 😎
DATES: Friday, June 2, 9
TIME: 6:00pm to 7:30pm (come early to park and prep)

Stand Up Family Ocean Adventure
Experience the awe and wonder of the Salish Sea! Bring your family and explore the coastline of Brentwood Bay with a marine biologist. Be inspired by & connect to the ocean world as you paddle on this fun and educational day designed for families. Participants will learn how to stand up paddle while exploring the waters of the Saanich Inlet with a Paddle Canada certified SUP instructor and marine biologist. A passion for the ocean, in all of its manifestations, will be promoted. Curiosity and laughter are encouraged! Bring a lunch and a picnic blanket.

Paddle with the Creatures of the Salish Sea
This is an Instagram Live event. Join marine biologist and Blue Jellyfish SUP Adventures owner Pam Martin and Pacifica Paddle Sports owner and manager E-J Frederikson on an ocean interpretive paddle in Tod Inlet. Learn all about the creatures of the Salish Sea as we explore the inlet on paddleboards. Watch as our surprise underwater guest joins us in our search for magnificent moon snails, smacks of jellies, skittery crabs and a galaxy of sea stars
